Examples
Let's create a public list of some quotes:
public list 5 quotes I like - From the West Wing episode "17 People" Ainsley Hayes on Woman/civil rights: "Because it's humiliating. A new Amendment we vote on declaring that I'm equal under the law to a man? I am mortified to discover there's reason to believe that I wasn't before... ...the same Article 14 that protects you protects me. And I went to law school just to make sure." -William Feather "No man is a failure who is enjoying life." -Barely Legal blog's advice for first year law students We have been getting lots of requests lately from anxious 1Ls-to-be, asking for advice on a variety of topics, from "how close should I live to school" to "what is the best method to highlight my casebooks". My advice to them is not nearly as narrow as their questions. Simply put, I tell them not to go. http://barelylegalblog.blogspot.com/2006/07/20-tips-to-avoid-being-douchebag-in.html -When you run into an idiot in the entrepreneurial world, you can turn around and head the other way. When you run into an idiot in the corporate world, you have to turn around and say, "Sorry, boss." http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2006/07/10-reasons-you-should-never-get-a-job/ -Dennis Miller "Michael Moore simultaneously represents everything I detest in a human being and everything I feel obligated to defend in an American. Quite simply, it is that stupid moron's right to be that utterly, completely wrong." http://forums.about.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?msg=866.1&nav=messages&webtag=ab-politicalhmr&lgnf=y
Public items begin with a "-".
- this would be the public item title this would be the public item body
Private
Private permissions means only you can view your entry/item unless you have specifically shared the private entry/item with someone.
Examples
Let's create a private todo list titled "Things I gotta do" with four items to see how simple it is:
list things I gotta do - Call the parents I know, I know, it has been too long since I last called. - throw a huge party and invite all my closest internet friends - buy milk and none of that 2% stuff, it's all skim for me - listen to music I need some "me" time.
Private items begin with a "_".
_ this would be the private item title this would be the private item body
Open
Open permissions only apply to entries and mean that your entry can be viewed and added to by anyone, similar to a wiki.
Examples
